- Reduce - do you really need it?
- Refuse - You don't really need it!
- Reuse - You got it? Use it again and again.
- Recycle - After you are done with it - Recycle it.
- Upcycle and/or repurpose
- Get outside - relish the wonder that is nature
- Go to a farmers market (with your own bags)
- Remember to use your reusable cups / bottle
- Bake something from scratch
- Plant a garden
- Install a rain barrel
- Ride your bike to the store
- Plan your errands to reduce driving
- Turn over that paper and use the back side
- Set your printer to two-sided printing
- Take old batteries to be disposed of properly.
- Ditch the paper towels for cloth.
- Take a shorter shower
- Consider products like LUSH - solid shampoos with no packaging!
- Try very hard to stop using disposable products, even just perhaps one.
I leave you with this quote from John Muir:
“Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wildness is a necessity; and that mountain parks and reservations are useful not only as fountains of timber and irrigating rivers, but as fountains of life.”We only have one earth. Let us take care of it every single day.
