Wait! Before you toss that tube/bottle/branch away, Take a look at these Thanksgiving crafts

Thanksgiving Decor

Is it your turn to host Thanksgiving Dinner?  There's no need to go buy a bunch of fancy stuff, to enjoy for a couple of days and then have to store until next time you host.   I came across these adorable projects for low waste decorations.

The Thankful Tree  Over at Simply Vintage Girl I found this great project:

I would use scraps of paper left-over from other art projects, and I would cut them in a leaf pattern… this could be a beautiful and low waste centerpiece or room décor.

For name place cards, you could make these:

A full tutorial is over at Alphamom.com, but these super-cute turkeys are made from cereal boxes and junk mail post cards.

You don’t have to buy little foam pieces, you can paint cardboard pieces, to add features.
And my favorite if you have leftover Halloween pumpkins:

Photo by Wes Johnson and styled by Jaimee Rose for The Arizona Republic newspaper.  Several other lovely ideas to reuse pumpkins can be found here.

More ideas can be found on my Green Thanksgiving board on Pinterest.

We are logging and analyzing our trash this week, and will post on our  weekly trash inventory on Monday - garbage day.   It is very interesting to write down every thing you toss, and think about how you could have avoided it.
